Reminiscences
A card that burns down is not quite gone. When the fire goes cold, thirty days after, a memory of it comes to the one who let it go.
The memory is not the card. It hangs in the dark, in smoke and mist. It comes apart, and it comes back.
What was said while the card burned sets the weather it is remembered in, and keeps it. A memory with nothing said fades a little more each month.
Their memories come when the fire goes cold. Until then, whoever let them go can still say something. Farewell
